01 / The beginning

Planning for a
new facility.

It started with floor plans.

When a museum was preparing to open a new facility in New York City, its team needed a cleaning partner that could accommodate changing staffing needs.

GermSmart began planning from floor plans and visualizations, rather than an initial onsite walkthrough. During the selection process, the team demonstrated how its internal operations would support staffing and quality control.

The assignment would begin with post-construction cleaning. But that was only the first stage.

02 / The transition

A different phase.
A different team size.

The work changed.
So did the staffing.

The initial post-construction phase called for a larger cleaning team. As that phase progressed, GermSmart adjusted staffing before settling into the ongoing service program.

The recurring work centers on daily porter service, including holidays, with cleaning around opening and closing hours. When coverage is needed, GermSmart draws on employees from other sites or offers overtime to team members assigned to the museum.

How the engagement evolved

  1. Post-constructionA larger team for the initial cleaning phase.
  2. Daily porter serviceRecurring support around museum operations.
  3. Expanded scopeSupply management and additional cleaners.
03 / Accountability

A correction.
A repeatable lesson.

One correction became
a training tool.

During service, an area was not being cleaned using the correct method.

GermSmart retrained the team and documented the correction through before-and-after photos. Then it turned the process into step-by-step instructions the supervisor could use to train subsequent staff.

That made the response more than a one-time correction. It gave the supervisor a documented method to teach.

The client also has access to real-time reporting through Swept, allowing it to review work documentation and communicate concerns through photos.

04 / The relationship

Beyond the trial.

After the trial,
the relationship grew.

According to GermSmart, the customer finalized the contract after the trial period and added supply management and additional cleaners to the scope.

What began as support for a new facility continued as a daily cleaning relationship with broader responsibilities.
